The “Art deco” stadium-park and swimming pool at Bruay-la-Buissière

Discover the stadium-park of Bruay, an architectural gem from the golden age of the mining industry in the 1930s. This sports and leisure complex was built amidst rows of terraced miners’ houses and includes a stadium, a park and a swimming pool. The horizontal lines and symmetry of the shapes of this complex are a perfect illustration of the “Art deco” movement. This historical site also testifies to the social progress associated with the years when the Front Populaire party was in power.
